Description | This is the baboon god, a manifestation of Thoth. The figure might relate to Tuna el- Gebel, a sacred place of Thoth. It has a sun-disk and a horn (which is unusual) on its head and holding an Wdjat eye. It is a composite figure, made of wood, cloth with organic resin, and metal. A baboon holding Wdjat eye appears from the Late period, This example might also date to the Late period or later. |
